i guess we are calling it developing an aging-friendly city. we are also looking at how to support senior services and unique neighborhood by neighborhood programs called aging in place or village models that allow people who are older or seniors getting older to be able to support each other and to stay in their homes and communities longer so they can be contributed to the community as long as possible as opposed to institutionalizing them, which costs quite a bit more. so i'm looking with senior group's ideas of how to create more aging in place programs neighborhood by neighborhood as well, but i think those are the key issues. i am also, kind of as the father of a 10-year-old -- i have anxiety like other parents right now as we apply for a middle schools for my daughter. as a member of the school board for eight years, i know that a strong school system and strong schools in the richmond is key. but also, i serve on the first five commission. each county has a commission that oversees money that supports children, and toddlers, and infants

i do think things are changing at city hall and with city government generally. in the last budget process, we read able to get a full-time person in the office of economic and workforce development who will focus exclusively on nightlife and entertainment. that is a huge step with the positives of the industry. i would have worked very closely with supervisor chiu to get a budget for the entertainment commission. at times, the entertainment commission has been set up to fail because we expect all sorts of enforcement and make sure that people are cracking down on the rules, but we have not committed the resources necessary to do so. we are slowly doing that to make sure that they can meet their mission. and the of all special use district that i mentioned before, i think we lost -- we will finally start seeing some reform there. we have a lot more work to do. i recently asked the economist to supplement the impact study for the night live with a similar study for outdoor fairs and festivals, which we know contribute mightily to our economy. i'm very committed to

eric brooks representing san francisco green party and the grass-roots party for the city. i'm not going to wax poetic or anything but it's incredible we reach i -- reached this point and i am still pinching myself and how we got to the success and of course everyone in the room had a big part of it and crucial ed harrington and commissioner avalos and i am the guy disoghtd show up in city call and be the community whip but there is so much more of an organization beneath like that like i'm a small piece of the iceberg and over the years we have been working on this there are key groups and we wouldn't have gotten this done. early on green peace, sierra club, global exchange, and bright line project and a new one and a large group which is the first crystallization of organizations all around the bay area to push for local clean energy and local clean alliance and without that group we also wouldn't be here and i want to put out the kudos to all those folks. they did incredible work. as to next steps i think the measure that was passed at the board of supervisors on the 18t
